Dad

To give credit where credit is due...a few months back I had the opportunity to spend a special weekend with my dad and my older sister. Just the three of us. That accounts for exactly half of the members of our family. Of course, that doesn't include the new additions. My parents' legacy now includes three son's in-law and six grandkids. Growing up as one of four kids is a special and frustrating thing. So, it is equally as nice for all of us to be together as it is to spend special one on one (or two) time together.

So, on this weekend not so long ago, the three of us enjoyed time together on Bellaire Beach, just south of Tampa, FL. I think the time we spent together there will always be with me. We enjoyed ocean views, wind off the water, sun and sand, beach excursions for shells and spectacular sunsets. We recounted our favorite family memories and learned new things about one another. We spent one night lying on our backs on the beach looking up at the stars, just talking about whatever came to our minds.

It was on this trip that I realized that randomly taking pictures of my feet was a thing. I have since looked back at my collection of photos and found that this was deffinitely a common thread, which is something I apparently share with my dad as well. Because, during this weekend, my dad mentioned the idea of making a blog out of foot pictures basically. So, here it is. There is something poetic to me about chronicling my feet and the steps they have taken, as well as the places that I have been able rest them.
